PROMISE TO PERFORM INDUSTRIES, INC.
Building the Leadership Capacity for the Next Chapter of Growth
A New Chapter Required More Than a New Plan
Promise to Perform Industries, Inc. (PtP) had achieved much of what its strategic plan set out to do in the first five years after a management buyout. As that plan approached completion, the company faced a more consequential question: Did it have the leadership capacity and shared direction needed for its next stage of growth?
The work began when CEO Jeff Brazwell engaged Upsurge Advisors founder Nicole DeFalco to coach one of its senior leaders. When the Leadership Versatility Index 360 revealed insights with implications beyond one individual, Jeff recognized an opportunity to strengthen the leadership system as a whole.
That willingness to look honestly at how the team was leading opened the door to the company’s next challenge: defining where the business would go next and how its leaders would take it there.
He expanded the process to the full senior leadership team. Each leader completed the LVI 360 and received an individual debrief before the team came together to examine its collective strengths, blind spots, and opportunities to lead more effectively together.

“Nicole helped us connect how we lead with where we want to take the business in the coming years. We now have clearer strategic priorities, stronger leadership capacity, and broader ownership of execution across the organization. That puts us in a much better position to turn strategy into growth.”

Impact Across the Organization
The commitment has continued beyond the planning process. What began as one coaching engagement has expanded to other members of the senior leadership team, with additional executive coaching planned for the coming year. Together, these engagements are strengthening the leadership capacity required to bring the strategy to life.
Leaders are creating more space for others to contribute, decide, and take ownership.
More decisions are being resolved closer to where the work happens, reducing dependence on senior problem-solvers.
Pulse feedback shows meaningful gains in listening, strategic thinking, composure, and the ability to bring others along.
The organization is building a stronger leadership bench to carry the strategy forward.
PtP did not treat executive development and strategic planning as separate initiatives. Its leaders connected them, building the shared direction and leadership capacity required to turn strategy into growth.
